No - AI needs a more ancient technology: an ethical operating system. Just as there is not one software operating system, so, too, there are a myriad of ethical operating systems - or simply schools of ethics. An amoral hyper-advanced artificial general intelligence is almost by definition the greatest threat to humanity imaginable. Getting AI to comply with a globally acceptable ethical operating system - almost like Uniform Commercial Code - will be one of the biggest and most rewarding challenges of our lifetime.
