No matter how good we have it, we always find a way to fill the void with stress. Life is stressful. Dukkha is quite real. One of the most effective techniques to transform stress into bliss is to close your eyes and imagine you are back to being a Cave Person. It's the year 100,000 B.C. You are just beginning to grasp the concepts of language and technology. You are just beginning to wield immense the power of imagination. You close your eyes and image a world where you and your people are much smarter, in which imagination has shaped the very framework of reality. You open your eyes and have transported yourself to the present moment. You no longer take for-granted all the wondrous things around you, but instead relish in their obvious magic. You suddenly feel as if you are the character in an epic cinema that you have been watching all along, no longer caught-up in the trance that has controlled you since the last time you experienced such profound lucidity and perspective.
